About London Concert Chorus
Welcome!
We are very happy you have found our lovely, community choir. Here is some information that you might find useful.
Who are we?
The London Concert Chorus is a subscription-based, non-audition choir, founded by Georg Tormann in 2001.
The choir is run by a friendly committee and in recent years has featured a number of experienced Musical Directors, depending on the term.
We are an amateur group of up to 120 singers that meet once a week to rehearse and enjoy a wide range of repertoire from musical theatre to pop and classical music. You will be asked which section you would like to join:
We rehearse every Tuesday evening (term dates provided) from 8pm – 10pm at:
Shortlands Golf Club, Ravensbourne Avenue, Shorlands, BR2 0BP
Where do we perform?
There is usually a local end of term concert for friends and family, often with a fundraiser in aid of a chosen charity.
Once a year the full choir are invited to perform several concerts as part of the Christmas Festival at prestigious venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican and The Birmingham Symphony Hall.
The choir has also performed at the Royal Albert Hall and as part of the Battersea in Concert Summer Season.
What To Expect Each Week
A fun, sociable sing!
Every week we sing for an hour, break for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat then continue singing until 10pm. Many of us meet up for a drink either before or after rehearsal (or both!) so do please come and join us!
Fun Socials and Newsletter!
Every term we generally hold a social at a local pub with an Open Mic or Singalong which are always fun, well-attended and a good opportunity to meet other members of the choir.
We also have a termly newsletter called Key Notes which all signed up members will receive to their inboxes including rehearsals updates and news and some fun features.

- Sopranos (highest women’s voices)
- Altos (upper voices)
- Tenors (lower voices)
- Basses (lowest men’s voices)

- Termly (cohabiting) couples: £60 each
- Annual subscription (3 terms): £180
- Zoom membership only: £30
